Outreach Following Godly Examples

EXAMPLE: The LORD Who Became Christ - Outreach To Abram

Christ first reached out to Abram by offering him wealth and status if Abram would follow. Note this was NOT a gospel message of salvation at this initial step in Abram’s conversion process.

Genesis 12

1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Nowhere in this passage did God tell Abram anything about Eternal Life! God promised Abram a national lineage, a physical heritage, and fame for seeking God! That’s ALL about wealth and status, and NOTHING about Eternity!

In the beginning, God asked Abram to seek Him strictly to attain fortune and glory!

“Making Millions By God” reaches out in like manner, following Christ’s example, to attract people to God with a materialistic title. The content is a mixture of material and spiritual, containing true materialistic examples, practical spiritual insights, as well as the Gospel.

The Presentation is not designed to replace a Gospel message, but to offer people hope of betterment of their daily lives, while all who are Christ’s wait for His return to Earth.

EXAMPLE: Paul’s ‘Become As Them Relating Better’ Outreach Style

Paul approached people by emphasizing his similarities with them, rather than emphasizing his differences.

1 Cor 9

19 For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.

20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;

21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

23 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

Paul noted that different people need to be approached in a manner which reflects concern for their perspectives about living: Law observing, lawless, weak, whatever. His goal was to reach out to many, to go to any length toward all, so he could possibly save some. Times have changed.

In today’s world, material prosperity is on the rise in all nations. Following the advances of knowledge explosion via books, media, and the World Wide Web, people are better educated on the whole in a global manner to astonish anyone of say, the 1700’s. Transportation via plane, train, and automobile are available to cross cities, countries, and span the globe with amazing speed. Sciences, arts, philosophy, medicine, government, economics, and other subjects are far more widely understood even in the most brutish of countries. In other words, people are in a different mind set than when Paul approached people, though the method is of Christ.

“Making Millions By God” takes into account the increasing need for people to understand more, and more fully, WHY following God’s ways work so well. In some venues, telling people that God is great and should be worshiped simply because of His Greatness is increasingly less effective to gain attention from an increasingly prosperous and busy population. Attention is often only gained by stating the spectacular, by upholding the supreme, by announcing the extreme.

“Making Millions By God” is a distinctly memorable title, speaking to the heart and mind of any person.

Paul’s approach was one of humility, of other-esteem.

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. (Phil 2:3).

“Making Millions By God” recognizes that ALL people have EQUAL potential before God, and that seeking wealth for God’s glory and purposes so as to have more to give to others is a message which gains the attention of the unconverted.

EXAMPLE: Fellowship & Nurture

To strengthen bonds of mutual sharing and caring, the light of God’s love must shine.

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. (John 13:35).

“Making Millions By God” is structured as a presentation best offered by pastors in local congregations with the local congregation present to meet, greet, and welcome back those who might be drawn in. This way people who come will see Christ’s Love in action between the members of the congregation, and will desire to repeat the experience.

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. (Heb 10:25).

“Making Millions By God” is designed to be a Bible Study, with an augmented presentation, written materials, and study aids, for small group discussion as a follow on to an initial presentation. The materials take about two months to accomplish, requiring time spent between those who will come and the congregation. This induces time together for friendships to form, for care to be expressed, for Christ’s Love to become more apparent.
